You start off the game as a girl called Alexia, your have been banished but your family is kidnapped and your the only one who can save them however you must fight your way and prepare yourself for the things of nightmares.

Story
You are in The kingdom or Celotopia, You are part of the royal family which rules over the kingdom, You are a young girl called Alexia, your parents banished you away from the castle because your only half royal one day a letter from your brother arrives asking to come visit the castle, but when you arrive you find he is kidnapped, and a letter is left on the table beside you.As you read the letter more you realize that he was kidnapped by an evil witch called Zelandra, you must set out to save him and your family name.
How to Play
Walk around looking for quests, find puzzles to solve to open doors to items of value or to progress in the game, defeat bosses and temples to get what you need to make yourself prepared to face off against the last boss Zelandra

Game Layout
So you start off in your Home on the edge of the forest near a beautiful lake with lots of trees and animals, suddenly you hear a knock on your window, you see a mail carrier cat, the cat is black with a box attached to its back, after you take the mail from the box the cat looks up at you and meows before running off.
you open the letter to find your brother has invited you to the capital kingdom of Celotopia, you pack your things and set on your way, as you approach the edge of the forest you see an Axe stuck in the tree, you know the forest is dangerous so you take the Axe.
after taking the Axe you notice there is a explosion and suddenly some of the forest is covered in lava, you must jump across each platform to reach the other side.
once you get across your suddenly greeted by some of the evil witch Zelandra's minions, you must defeat them to open the door, once inside you find a puzzle which you must solve, the puzzle will either consist of a small maze where you need to move a rock around to flip the switch or something else(in development) after you solve the puzzle the next door will open, again you find more of the evil witch evil witch Zelandra's minions, defeat them once again to open the next door.
You find yourself confronted with a maze, inside there will be switches to open doors in which 5 of the 6 switches will have minions inside and the 6th will include the key-card to open the boss door
Once inside you will have to fight Zelandra, she will throw fireballs at you. defeat her quickly, once she dies your family will appear and the game will be finished and credits will roll.

For the next part of the game which wont be done during the assignment i will revert the final boss in stage 1 to one of the witches top Hench women, then ill add in level 2 which will be Cleotopia, here you will find merchants who give you quests(to be determined) the first one will be to go talk to a guard at the royal castle gates, he will then tell you to help the villagers, once you have done all this then you will head back to the guard which you will let you enter the royal castle.
once inside you will find the evil witch who will disappear with your family(she doesn't notice you) she leaves a note saying she demands to be made queen of all of Cleotopia or she will kill all the kingdom and your family, so you set out ready to face the hordes of minions and levels (to be determined) on your way to defeating the evil witch Zelandra.

Heads Up Display (HUD)
The Hud for the game will be a cursor in the middle with ways to pick up objects, interact with npcs and also to tell where your looking, there will be an axe to swing and hopefuly a shield to block, next there will be items showing on screen when you pick them up or messages on screen when you need to open a door or interact.

Princess Alexia
Alexia is a member of the royal family but she is only half royal because her father was a common man who passed away.
Alexia Lives alone on the edge of the woods near the royal castle of Cleotopia, she is a fierce warrior and cunning lady who has learned a lot living in the woods for the last 5 years, she only wishes to prove herself to her family and wishes only to be accepted in her role as princess of Cleotopia.

Beth - The Mother (Queen of Celotopia)
Beth is a strict mother and ruler of all of Cleotopia, she rules with an iron fist and is very fearless, she once was known as the warrior of death in her past but one day she faced off against the witch Zelandra and won and the witch escaped with her life, this however cost to her a lot and she lost most of her power, these days she's just a normal human who keeps to her royal duties.
John - The Father (king of Celotopia)
John is a care free father and 2nd in command under the queen of Celetopia, he is a simple man who enjoys spending time sorting out political matters and attending to the citizens of the kingdom.
Peter - The Son (prince of Celetopia)
Peter is a care free boy who loves his sister Alexia, he would skip out at night to visit her and tell stories to each other, he never trained in combat as he is more the magical type and loves to cast spells, he hopes to one day grow up to be a powerful wizard.
Alexia - The Daughter (Banished princess of Cleotopia)
Much to how was said about her in the introduction, alexia has always wished to live upto her families expectations and only wishes to become a hero much like her mother once was, she wishes to earn her way back into the royal family.
The Witch - Zelandra
The Witch Zelandra
Zelandra has been around for at least 100 years, she is an old lady who only wishes to take the kingdom for herself and the royal family has denied her it for all that time, she is a powerful witch who fought the legendary queen Beth the warrior of death to a standstill but lost and managed to get away to tell the tale another day, she has been planning for years in which time she eventually came and kidnapped the royal family with a cunning plan, but she forgot about Alexia who now is the kingdoms only hope.
Good/Evil Npcs
Bosses/mini bosses can be found only in dungeons, it's a rare occasion you find them else where, they are put in place to stop you reaching the end goal, some will be mini bosses placed to stop you from getting some items where as the main boss will be to stop you finishing a dungeon and finding the piece of the puzzle that will further your journey.
Characters in development
While these will not be in the final game for the assignment i felt it was still worth mentioning as i may develop on the game even after the assignment as it definitely is a lot of fun for me to create things and making a game was always one of my dreams.
The extra characters will be:
- Extra bosses aka the witch queen Zelandra's Hench women and men.
- The guards at the castle doors
- npcs in dungeons to guide you
- a companion who follows by your side
- friends who show up at certain points in the game
- A witch queen spy who torments you all game who you fight as a mini boss before each main boss until the end where they become the main boss before the witch queen Zelandra herself.
Level Design
The first level will be where you start off in your house by the edge of the woods in the forest of celotopia, inside is all your things bed, clothes, shower etc.
as you venture outside a bird flys in your door knocking you backwards, it's an invination from your brother to come to the castle,
after viewing the letter you must venture through the forest, it will be sort of an enclosed area where you venture around trees towards an end goal with lots of trash mobs and some lava pools to jump over aswell as swamp lakes that will swallow you whole, there will be platforms to cross and much to do
Player View
the player view will be a 1st or 3rd person view where you will be able to see many things, first off is a cursor in the middle of the screen, this will help determine where your looking.
Next there will be text under the cursor when you hover over items that you can interact with be it a door, a good npc, items of interest, a key-card, a switch or even a weapon/shield to pick up.
you will also see your Axe in front of you while it's equipped,

May add in visuals to add a key-card on screen when you selected it, would also like to add in weapon swaps and maybe even a shield use button, maybe even add in a ranged bow to fire.

Game plan
How i plan to implement the game features for the rest of the semester will be as follows:
- First up i plan to start off by looking up tutorials on how to add in moving blocks and also making the inside of the house work.
- next i plan to look up tutorials on how to open doors by a trigger, ie a when monsters die/get a key-card/flick a switch etc etc.
- next ill find how how to make it so the npcs have hit points and how many hits each takes to kill. as well as adding in ai and movement with the npcs and maybe even speech/quests.
- After that ill look up on how to make the Axe hit things so they take damage.
- Next will be making a trigger like a rock falling into a hole to open a door.
- and finally how to make npcs fire at you and to trigger events to make your family show up after the boss dies

- then ill add in a menu for the start of the game and also try to implement some of the options for the game.
(Not for assignment, for development after assignment)
- then at a later stage ill add in quests for npcs and work on developing from there.
- maybe even swap the Axe out for a sword after entering the castle.
- and maybe adding in a bow to fire at range.
- or even adding in gold to buy items from npcs
- Lastly i could add in a space to put a gem you got from a box to open a door or maybe add 3 gems you need to slot into a door or wall to open the door or a secret passage to get a new weapon or to fight a boss etc.

Player Elements
The game Elements will be:
- when picking up items there will be a ding
- walking will have a heavy feel to it
- swinging the sword will have a tinging sound to it
- jump will have a grunt sound
- roll might sound like a small trample
- there will be voices to each npc and character
Global Elements
maybe a forest type sound for the first level and when your low health music of danger will come on till you get your hp up again.
