Story

How to Play

1) Using the WASD / arrow keys to move around and the spacebar to jump, the objective is to control a Sphere through a meandering pathway that is filled with challenging obstacles as each level progresses.

2) Shiny gem rewards are given after facing challenges. Collect them all to unlock different Sphere colours.

3) Jump and Speed boosts are available for certain obstacles. This makes it so the Sphere gets an automatic boost whether it's a long jump or a faster pace.

4) The goal is to get to the flag pole in order to finish the level !

Artwork (design)

The design of the game will have a simple 3D mountainous background.

The player model will be a Sphere in third person.

The platform will be a grassy pathway which twists in different directions, the layout will be the same although the main aspect of the game are the obstacles involved which will be scattered throughout it.

Technical Requirements

This game will be suitable for low end PCs as the design won't be extremely complicated. The background will be a mountainous area and there will be a grassy pathway floating in the sky filled with obstacles. Some obstacles will be moving but it shouldn't affect the performance.

Heads Up Display (HUD)

The player will have a HUD in the top right corner of the screen which will showcase how many gems they have gathered. A small gem icon with a number beside it to keep it minimal.

Characters

The game does not have any characters other than a Sphere which you can change the colour of after you have gathered a set amount of gems.

Level Design

All of the levels have a similar layout which involves a grassy pathway and the only difference will be the number of obstacles and how difficult they are as each level progresses. The mission is to collect the gems and to get to the finish pole. The background will be a simple mountainous landscape and the pathway will be floating in the sky so when the player falls off the map they instantly get a game over.

Global Elements

The camera view is in third person meaning the camera is behind the player. There are no boundaries, the overall objective is to get past the obstacles without dying. All of the objects will be able to interact with the player such as the obstacles pushing the player off the map. There will be a 3D mountainous landscape in the background that the player won't be able to interact with as it will be far away from the players reach.

Player View

The game is in third person meaning the camera will be behind the player from a slight top angle view which will give the player an opportunity to be precise with their movements.

Game Flow Chart
