Game Design Document - Run For The Recipe

Run For The Recipe is a running game that takes place inside a kitchen. The player needs to get all the ingredients before his opponent in order to win a mysterious recipe.

This game will be happening inside a restaurant kitchen in which the chef is running to collect all the ingredients for the recipe before his/hers adversary gets it and wins the recipe. For this reason the game was named Run For The Recipe and it's genre is Racing Game. The player will have a third person perspective and will be able to move forward, backward and sideways. It's a single player game, in another words, the player will be competing against the computer.

The gameplay is quite limited. The player only have control over the character he/she is using. They can move forward, backward and sideways.
Target audience
This game was made for all ages, anyone can play it.
Look and Feel
The game will be make up of low poly objects and people an it's feel will be fun

Story

This game will be happening inside a restaurant kitchen in which the chef is running to collect all the ingredients for the recipe before his/hers adversary gets it and wins the recipe. For this reason the game was named Run For The Recipe and it's genre is Racing Game.

How to Play

When the game begins you will be right at the door of the kitchen while your adversary is already inside the kitchen looking for the ingredients. You start running as fast as you can in the kitchen countertops collecting the necessary ingredients and even utensils like pots, stewpots and spoons. Once you collect everything you will win the recipe, however, if the timer goes off or if your adversary gets the recipe before you do then the winner is your opponent. 

The player will have a third person perspective and will be able to move forward, backward and sideways. It's a single player game, in another words, the player will be competing against the computer.

Heads Up Display (HUD)

There will be a timer  on the screen.

Characters

There is two characters on the game. One of them is the player and the other one is the adversary, the computer

Character 1 - Chef

This is the player character. The player can to move forward, backward and sideways around the kitchen.

Character 2 - Adversary

This is the chef's adversary. The player has no control over this character.

Level Design

The level Design will consist of a kitchen of a restaurant to better match with the idea of food and recipe. It will have elements seem daily on a restaurant kitchen.


Global Elements

Camera view and Player boundaries.

Camera View

The game is played on a third person perspective.

Player Boundaries

The player can only run around within the kitchen limits, the aisles are the running areas.

Game Flow Chart

Game starts → Collect all the ingredients → Win recipe → Game end

Audio & Sound F/x

There will be a sound of a ticking clock due to the timer and sounds that happen in the kitchen when food is being prepared.

Technical

The engine used to make the game run will be Unity.

Marketing

The game has a fun layout, developed to make the player relax and get distracted from the daily stress.
