Game Introduction
Spell the Story is a children's spelling game which aims to jumpstart a love of storytelling in first and second graders.
Spell the Story takes place in a storybook, and players will be meeting many different characters who are sure to become a hit among those young and old.
To play Spell the Story, players will use their space bar to move the game when prompted, after the character has closed their mouth. Characters will come one after the other, bringing with them a word to spell that is missing one letter. The player can ask for a hint, choose a multiple-choice number, or choose the letter that slots into the word.
There are 7 characters players can come across, including, but not limited to, Francis the Frog, Wilbur the Whale, Princess Comet, and the evil Mr. Spell It Wrong.
The good characters will provide the player with hints if needed. Mr. Spell It Wrong will give them a challenging word to spell. When they get these words correct, they also get a bigger reward in the form of an on-screen celebration, which acts as an incentive to continue playing but also to feel proud when harder words have been spelled correctly.
Once the player has acquired 7 words, the game will finish, signaling that the player has correctly spelled 7 words, and they will get to experience a celebration unlike any other from other educational video games on the market.
